A Good Day for Art

Welcome to After School Art - a new series of art lessons especially developed for school aged students.

I have created this series of art classes based on art theory and best practices that are distilled from my knowledge as a professional art educator. This is an ideal learning environment for your home- schooled learner or for the child who would benefit from an enriched art education taught in a small group setting.

These classes are designed to flow from simple art practices to a more complex and holistic foundation in art making. Each subject is taught for 1 ½ hours in 4 – 6 week intervals. Private lessons are also available.

The Subject areas include

·         The Elements of Art –the foundation principles of all fine art - line, shape, form, color, texture, and value - created for 3^rd – 10^th grade students. This is a perfect place to start your child’s art education.  6 weeks

·         Drawing – a 3 part series which broadens and deepens fundamental drawing skills and includes drawing from life, shading, and perspective- and is focused on upper elementary and middle school students – 5^th – 10^th grade learners.   6 week sessions

·         Painting – for all age groups - from 3^rd – 10^th grade. Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced.  4  week sessions.

      Dates:  All new classes beginning the week of November 2, 2009  -   4:00 - 5:30pm

Location: Depending on class size (with a maximum of 10 students) the classes are taught in either SE Denver, near Florida & Quebec, or in the Wells Fargo Building on Havana & Florida.

Fees:  Elements of Art – 6 weeks -  $180 + $20 materials fee
Drawing – 6 weeks - $120 + $20 materials fee ( your child may bring their own materials for this class – I will provide a materials list prior to the first session)
Beginning Painting – 4 weeks - $120 + $20 materials fee

            Please note the above fees are based on group classes. Private lessons are $30 per hour for each 1 1/2 hour session ($45 per class).
